About "Perfect Gentleman"
The whole scene was arranged after finding the right horse, side saddle & trainer to assist me; wearing proper 18th century riding clothes. Even the breed of dog - our mountain cur - was right for the time period. Everything went perfectly to capture on film to take back to the studio.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Shelly Louise Sweigart

Michele Louise Sweigart has had a lifelong interest in drawing and painting. Originally from the Pennsylvania farmland country, she was not without pencil and pad to sketch a visual diary of her rural explorations.
Her subject matter is as varied as the media she chooses to work with. Wildlife, still-life, portraits and landscapes are skillfully captured in pencil, pastel, ink acrylic, oil, scratchboard and scrimshaw.
Shelly Louise's originals and several limited print editions are in private collections around the country. "I would love to travel along with pieces being shipped to Maine, Alaska, and other parts unknown."  The majority of her commissioned work is comprised of children's portraits and beloved pets.
She paints with renewed passion inspired by the beauty of her surroundings.
